I have seen this happen on a couple of client computers last week and this week. The icons in the task bar and on the desktop for Office programs are showing as the generic ‘I don’t know what this is’ windows icon. The associated files word docs, for example also show a generic icon. The programs still function normally. I have tried deleting the iconcache. On one PC I removed the Office shortcuts from the task bar and desktop and restored them directly from the Office folder and that did work for the programs but not the associated files.
